Your Best Tinnitus Remedy

It is uncomfortable if you are not feeling well and you can’t concentrate on what you are doing.  If you have tinnitus, you can attest to that. Tinnitus is a condition wherein you hear a persistent humming or ringing in your ears. This is quite common nowadays because there are constant noise around you and almost everything causes you stress. You may be desperate for some remedy to cure or lessen the ringing. The best tinnitus remedy, of course, is to avoid instances and events that can damage your ear and hearing. The following are things you can avoid to help prevent or even alleviate persistent ear ringing.

Eat healthy.

You take good care of your body, and your body takes good care of you–it’s as simple as that. Eating healthy and exercising conditions your body to handle all the stresses and illnesses you encounter. Exercise helps your body get rid of toxins and improves blood circulation, even in your ear area. If you already have tinnitus, avoid salty food and junk food, as these raise your blood pressure and cholesterol levels may make the ringing in your ears louder and more uncomfortable.

Lessen Stress

How is it possible for you to lessen the stress when just thinking of it is already stressful for you? If you are stressed out, you are also anxious and this may worsen your tinnitus–notice how that ringing in your ears gets louder every time you get mad or are worried.  You have to learn how to relax every now and then. If you already feel tired, do not push yourself. You can spare a minute to close your eyes, put your feet up and just forget about everything.

Avoid bad habits

I know you are guilty of some of the bad habits I’m going to discuss. The first is drinking alcohol excessively. Occasional drinking is okay but excessive drinking may not be helpful for you.

Avoid smoking because the nicotine in the cigarettes will also trigger the ringing in your ears. And aside from that, also avoid caffeine and any other food or drink that contains caffeine.

Avoid noise

This might be easy to say but too difficult to do. Don’t expose yourself to unnecessary, loud noise or music. Turn the volume of your radio to just a minimum, especially when you’re listening to music using earphones or headphones.  Avoid going to bars or clubs that play loud music, and if you go to rock concerts, wear ear plugs to protect your hearing. You can also try to stay as far away from the concert speakers as possible.
