Ringing in ears is medically known as tinnitus. This is a condition wherein ringing, humming, or high-pitched sounds are experienced in one or both ears. This is usually more noticeable during the night. Some of you may freak out and panic but there is no need to panic because this condition is not that bad. Self-examine
In order to determine how bad your condition is, you have to examine yourself. Listen to the ringing and check if it is constant and continuous or if there is a specific time when you can hear it. Ask yourself: is it loud or mild? Does it only occur for a few seconds or lasts minutes?

* Stress. Although stress does no directly cause ear ringing, too much of it can increase the discomfort of tinnitus. Certain reactions take place in your body when you are stressed: your heart rate increases, your blood vessels constrict, and all these can make the ringing in your ears worse. Learn to relax and take time out from the stresses of work to help stop the ringing in your ears.
* Listening to loud music. If you frequent bars and clubs that play loud dance music, or if you enjoy going to rock concerts, then you just may be the perfect candidate for tinnitus. Loud music can damage your hearing and cause ringing in your ears. Try to minimize or completely avoid going to dance clubs and rock concerts, and don’t set the volume of your music player too loud when using earphones.
